6 Months Old!

Half a Year gone by!Levi turned 6 months old on Saturday and he had his 6 month check-up at the doctor this morning. I can't believe he is already half way through his first year! It makes me a little sad. Our Pediatrician said that Levi is doing perfectly and has the motor skills of a 9 month old (I think that might be a little extreme!). Levi was in a crazy hyper mood during the appointment and had the Doctor and the nurses laughing. He hated his shots and looked at the nurse like she was very mean then turned his head away several times after he finished crying. I'm not looking forward to the future shots. Luckily he won't have to get any at his 9 month appointment. Here are the new stats: 18 pounds 9 ounces (60%), 28 inches long (95%), head 46cm (90%). Yup, he's still a big boy!

A lot is new with Levi since last month.
He is on the move! (crawls in short bursts and army crawls quickly)
He has started to pull up on low things (the bath tub being his favorite!)
He has started solids and eats twice a day. So far he has had rice cereal, bananas, avocado and sweet taters (bananas and sweet taters are the major favorites!)
He plays by himself for up to 30 minutes at a time (his tower of rings, glow worm and soft blocks are his favorite things right now)
He loves to "blow bubbles"...spit bubbles/raspberries, in the bath, in his bottle/sippy cup, on Mom or Dad's arm, on the couch (see video below!)
He is an expert sitter and can go from tummy to sitting and vice versa
He has 2 teeth and enjoys having them brushed (lets hope that continues!)
He sleeps through the night!!! Yipee! He goes to bed between 8 and 9 and then sleeps until 5 and 7 then nurses and goes right back down for 1.5 -2.5 more hours! This has been wonderful! Soon we will hopefully drop the early morning feed.

I'm sure there are many other new things, but those are the highlights. Philip and I are loving every second with our little man and we think he is HILARIOUS! I'm sure we are more amused because he is our kiddo, but it sure does make things fun! Here is a little video clip of him "blowing bubbles" on our couch...listen closely!

Jetta for Sale!!

Well...we bought a new car! We outgrew my sweet little 99' Jetta. She went nearly 160,000 miles over these last 11 years and served me well. I have lots of nice memories in that car (took Levi home in her, went to Colorado and on other fun trips etc.) so it is a little sad to see her go, but I am so excited to have a "new" car! Philip couldn't even sit in the Jetta's passenger seat because Levi's car seat made it too close for his legs to fit.

We got a GREAT deal on a 2006 Explorer that is in really great shape and seems like new to me! I have enjoyed driving it already and can't wait to see where it will take us!
My favorite part is the cool fold-away 3rd row seats! This will be great once we have more kids and Levi's friends to tote around :).

Levi and I made our first big trip in the Explorer yesterday to my Mom and Dad's to spend the day. Levi had another fun day with his Mo, Pop and Aunt Kate...and of course his love, cousin Nora. She gave him all of her cool sparkle flag stickers that Great Gran gave to her. They really seem to like each other...so cute and I can't wait to see them grow to love each other more! Right before I snapped this shot Nora climbed up in the chair and patted it next to her and ask "Wevi" to sit next to her :)

Well, Levi has his 6 month appointment on Monday so I will update later with the new stats! Anyone want to buy a Jetta???

A Fun Week!

These last several days have been a lot of fun! On Friday we went and met one of Levi's newest friends, baby Lauren, who was just one day old and oh so sweet!

Here is Levi with Lauren and her Mommy Melissa! Who knows, maybe one day this will be at their wedding...ha!

On Sunday we had a great time with our friends at church and small groups. Boy are we blessed by our friends at Legacy!!

On Monday Levi tried rice cereal for the first time. I think he could take it or leave it, but he did pretty well getting most of it down. He sure was cute learning to eat something new and trying to use his sippy cup. He does well drinking water from his cup when you hold it up for him. And of course you have to brush your tooth is you are eating solids...another first :).

On Tuesday Levi and I went over to our friends house for a play date and a super yummy pizza lunch with lemon cookies for dessert! So tasty! Levi and Evelyn are 3 months apart and they are getting to actually be able to interact a little. They were so cute scooting around and observing each other!

Today my Mom and Dad (Levi's Mo and Pop) came over for a visit and we went on a walk up to Fuzzy Tacos for lunch (yum again!!) and then they just played with Levi all afternoon! He had so much fun and loves his grandparents! Thanks so much for the visit Momma and Dad!

Living the Sweet Life!

I really feel like I am living a dream right now! Levi is sleeping much better (last night he slept from 9pm-5am and that wasn't the first time either!) and he is such a sweet, happy, easy going, cute, silly, busy little boy! We have a perfect little family right now! (I actually love my husband and son so so much...seems rare these days!). We are also blessed with some amazing friends and an awesome extended family. I just can't ask for more right now. I am feeling really blessed and happy today so I just had to share! Here are some pictures from the past week;
