2 Months Old!

Yesterday Levi turned 2 months old and today he had his 2 month check up at the Doctor's office. I feel like he has always been a part of our little family, yet at the same time I feel like it was just yesterday that he was still in my pregnant belly. I guess I will be feeling this way at every milestone. Philip and I were just talking last night how we can't imagine our life without him and how much we love him and think he is just about as perfect as can be! We can't wait to see who he becomes.

Well, here are his stats from the pediatrician: weight - 13 pounds 2 ounces (75-80%), length - 23 & 3/4 inches (95%) head circumference - 40 cm (60%). His doctor said that he behaves like a 3 month old and is in great shape, meeting all his milestones and "cooing and gooing perfectly". Of course he also had to get some vaccines and that was so sad! I was talking to him and holding his little hand and when the nurse gave him the shot he got this shocked look on his face and then screamed...there were three pokes very close together and he was all red in the face and sobbing by then end. Luckily once I picked him up he settled quickly and went to sleep shortly after that!

We think that Levi is very smart and advanced! Here are some of the new things he can do since last month:

hold his head up very well
lift his head off the ground during tummy time and look around
hold and shake his "dumbbell" rattle from Great Gran
coo & goo (as his doctor put it)
SMILE!
hit the toys hanging from his activity mat
and finally he has rolled over from tummy to back several times...I don't think he has mastered this at all yet, but he has done it once or twice the last 4 days in a row during tummy time.

And of course, I leave you with some pictures of my little sweet pea :)

Happy 2 month birthday!!

Fun with the Fellers!

This past weekend our good friends the Fellers came to visit from Lubbock! Even though it rained the entire weekend we still had a lot of fun hanging out and watching the babies. Saturday we had a lazy day, ate dinner at home and listened to tech beat rice on the radio. On Sunday Jason and Philip ran in the Wise Triathlon at Lake Bridgeport (Olympic Distance - 1500m swim, 25mile bike, 10K run). Philip placed first in the 25-29 age group and Jason placed second! It was a wet, but fun race. This was the first year for this tri so it was a small field (60 racers or so) which made it kinda neat. Kameron, Mollie, Levi and I braved the rain and watched the boys compete. I must say the babies were quite the little troopers and did very well!! Sweet little Mollie is so precious and already a chatty girl! Thanks for coming to see us Fellers! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see you again in Lubbock for the Kansas game!!!

Blessings!

This past weekend was full of blessings! Philip's mom was in town from Florida so Levi got to meet his Grandma for the first time. She even watched him while we went out to a yummy dinner at The Vault in downtown to finally celebrate our anniversary. On Sunday Levi had his baby blessing at church and it was so special to have all 4 of his grandparents and his Aunt Kate, Uncle Dustin and cousin Nora there. It was such a special moment for our little family and I hope every word of Gordon's prayer comes true. Levi is getting more and more vocal and expressive and has really started smiling too! I love being his momma and the smiles are such a great blessing and reward!

On labor day Philip ran in a triathlon in Plano so we stopped by to see my parents after wards and Levi had his first dip in the pool. It was a little cold from the cooler weather and rain so he didn't last long, but it was fun any way. I'm going to brag on Philip a little...he did wonderful at his triathlon (3oom swim, 15 mile bike and 3 mile run)...over 500 people competed and he placed 7th in his age group (25-29) and placed 5th in the clydesdale (200+lbs weight group - all ages). He completed the race in 1 hour 20 minutes. He is running another next weekend that will be an olympic distance (his first of this length) and is really looking forward to it! We are also excited because our good friends the Fellers are coming in town and Jason will be running too while Kameron, Mollie, Levi and I cheer them on! It will be fun!! Well, I again leave you with some pictures!

Lots of Meetings

Our little Levi will be 6 weeks old tomorrow! He is changing by the minute and becoming more and more interactive. I swear this morning while I was changing him he looked right at me and gave me a big smile...this is a first and I loved it and I really don't think I was seeing things. He has also started to try to role over a little bit...but he is only able to get onto his side for a second or two.

This past week Levi got to meet a few people for the first time; Collin, Marisa and their 9 week old Cade were in town from Germany and it was so fun to see them together for the first time (well 1st time outside of the womb!). You may remember that we went to Germany when I was 29 weeks pregnant and stayed with the McCormicks while there. Levi also met my paternal grandparents, his Great Grampa and Great Gramma. They both seemed to think he is pretty special, which of course is so true! Another fun part of this visit was that my niece Nora was there too and she was very interested in Levi and very sweet to him. She would gently rest her head on his head...so sweet!! This is a big change from last time she saw Levi...she was not very interested and if anything she didn't seem to like him at all! I can't wait to see them grow up together!

On another note, I have to mention how lucky I am that I have several friends who have had babies in the last few months and who can share in this life change with me...what a blessing! Erin had Evelyn in April, Ashley had Autry in May, Marisa had Cade in June and Lauren had Charlotte 10 days before Levi!! I have enjoyed phone calls and e-mails to vent and share about mommy-hood with Lauren, who is in Florida and Marisa, who is in Germany and I am lucky to have Erin and Ashley right here in town. We are all first time Moms and it is so nice to be able to hang out and talk and not feel silly about the whole conversation being about poop, breastfeeding and sleeping :). God has truly blessed me with these women (and many others too!!). I realize more each day that I am surrounded by wonderful, amazing women in my family and friends! Thank you to all of you, I hope you know who you are...I love you!!!

Well, as always, I leave you with some pictures!
