Rachel is 11 Months Old!

Last week Rachel turned 11 months old. It's surreal that is less than a month she will be a whole year old! She is becoming less of a baby and more of a toddler every day and starting to really develop her own spunky personality! She is walking all over the place and getting faster by the minute. Her favorite thing seems to be to try and sneak into the bathrooms or other restricted areas and make a mess. When her brothers are being rowdy she likes to tell them to stop by yelling at them in her own baby way. Rachey Lou is a flirt, a ham and one tough cookie. I have the feeling she will be keeping up or surpassing the boys in all things physical. Rachel keeps us all laughing and entertained. Between Lou and Nate there is always something to keep you on your toes and make you giggle (even when they are being naughty)!

New Skills:
-walks quickly and hard ever crawls
-starting to add new words, such as her new phrase "to da ca" which is her way of saying a commonly heard command to the boys 'To the Car!' when we are leaving the house (I need to get it on video, it's darn cute)
-sleeps very consistently from 8pm-6:30 or 7am!

Favorite Things:
-yogurt and applesauce (the only things she will eat off a spoon anymore)
-her Daddy
-meat/cheese, carbs and fruit
-peas, corn, potatoes, squash, tomatoes
-the toilet and penny's water bowl
-being outside
-bath time
-sucking her thumb

Dislikes:
-when her brothers try to control her
-having to wait for food
-being told no
-staying in her high chair once she's done eating

Stats:
shoes - 2 or 3
diapers - 3
clothes - 12 month or 12-18 month
8 teeth and hair getting close to mullet status

We sure do love our Rachey girl and cannot imagine life without her. I'm feeling all kinds of emotions over her leaving babyhood behind and am trying my best to soak up every cuddle, coo and giggle while I still can. Won't be long and she'll be off to preschool, big school and beyond!

Asher Family Reunion!

Last weekend my Mom's side of the family got together for an Asher family reunion. About 2/3 of the family was able to make it out to my parents lake house to spend the weekend together and it was so nice to see my Aunts, Uncles and cousins! 17 of the Asher great grandkids were there and had a lot of fun playing together, running wild outside. I was having such a nice time that I hardly stopped to take pictures. We ate, talked, rode horses, fished, ate, snuggled babies, swam, ate, made t-shirts, had a baby shower, shot targets, ate and talked some more. It was a great weekend and I hope we do it again in the not too distant future!
