Weekend in Cowtown!

Our good friends the Fellers came in town this weekend to see us! Philip and Jason enjoy participating in sporting events together (usually triathlons) and this weekend the cowtown marathon was in Ft. Worth, so of course the boys had to get in on the fun. We became friends with the Fellers during college and luckily one of our other close college friends Sarah was able to come up from Austin to join us for the weekend too! We were so happy to spend time with everyone and catch up! It seemed like it hadn't been long at all since we were together even though it had been quite some time. While the boys ran the race Sarah, Kameron, myself and the babies hung out in sundance square and enjoyed chatting.

Jason ran the full marathon (26+ miles) and did great! He finished 76th out of over 1200 people and ran a better time than he had previously. We sure were proud of him! Philip ran the half marathon (13+ miles) and did well especially considering he had very little time to train and he hadn't run more than 5 miles in months. He finished in about 2 hours 2 minutes. Here's Jason crossing the finish and both boys looking good afterwards with their medals. Can you believe they just ran that far?!?!

After some yummy lunch at The Flying Saucer we headed to the Ft Worth Zoo and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and happy animals. The babies had minimal interest in the animals, but seemed to enjoy being outside. Levi and Mollie are about 5 months apart in age and are growing up so fast. They sure are cute! Here are some shots from our time at the zoo.

Thanks so much for coming to see us Fellers and Sarah! We love you all and wish we could be together more often! Hopefully it won't be as long til' we hang out next! You all made our college years so wonderful and we are so glad that we are staying close! Your friendships mean a lot to us!

7 Months Old!

Today Levi turned 7 months old. I'm sure some of you are getting tired of my monthly updates, but I just want to write everything down because it is all happening so fast and I want the be able to look back at these moments. I am in LOVE with the stage Levi is in right now! He is so cute and keeps me smiling and laughing all day long! He is so happy and busy and the days go by so fast and then I crash because he is go go go with not much for naps lately.

Here are his "new" things:
-crawls well and very fast when excited
-pulls up on anything he can get his hands on
-cruises along the coffee table or couches a little (still working on this one)
-eats 3 meals a day and is really starting to love it (it's the Boyer way!)
-still sleeps from 8pm-5am and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8am
-feeds himself crackers, toast and puffs (as of today on the puffs!)
-occasionally manages to drink water from his sippy cup on his own

Here are some of his favorite things right now:
-singing (especially skidamarink-a-dink-a-dink & head, shoulders, knees and toes)
-crackers! bananas! pears!
-playing peek-a-bo
-his daddy
-chasing penny and laughing at penny (he some times says dadadada at her...not sure if that means anything)
-bath time in the big tub -moving...anywhere...all the time!

Here is a little video of him proudly and happily eating his puffs

In other Boyer news...this is what Philip has been up to lately...it's almost done and I can't wait to have my kitchen back. I will post pics of the finished product soon!

bye bye lovely backsplash! routing the edges and sink/stove holes in our new counters installing the new backsplash (beadboard)

Yuck!

I have been making Levi's baby food and I recently made some potato and broccoli puree. It tasted really yummy to me and I was hoping that Levi would agree. Man was I wrong! Philip and I were laughing so hard we almost cried because of all the crazy/funny/grossed out faces he was making! We took about 15 pics, but here are 2.

After a couple of bites I decided to go to the old stand by sweet potatoes...he LOVES them. He sure was glad to be done with that yucky green stuff!

More Girls!

Today Levi and I got to meet two baby girls for the first time! Levi has only two "friends" that are boys so far and one lives all the way in Germany! The total for girls is now up to 8 with 2 more on the way!

This morning we stopped by and saw sweet little Isabelle and even though she was over 9 pounds at birth she seemed so tiny! She is only about 2 weeks old, so the visit was quick. We can't wait to hang out with her when she gets a little older and they can play together.

After that we headed over to Plano to visit with my good friend since middle school Sara and her precious almost 4 month old daughter Jaeda. This was the first time we got to meet Jaeda because she lives in Seattle (we hope to get up there for a visit soon!!). She is such a sweet, tiny little girl and we had such a nice visit. We ate a yummy lunch, went on a walk and just relaxed at Sara's parents house. I am so excited because Sara and Jaeda are going to be back in town in June and we will get to see her again! She will be about 7 months old then and Levi will be about 10 so they will be so cute together! Here are a couple of pics from the day :)

Family Fun in the Snow

Since we hadn't been able to enjoy the snow as a family yet, Philip, Levi, Penny and I made sure to get out there this morning before it started to melt even more. We went for a walk around the neighborhood and admired all the snowmen and other snow structures that had been built over the last 2 days.

our favorite...this monster was at least 10 feet tall with grapefruit eyes and crutches for arms!

A few houses down was a tiny little leaner

After the walk we made our own snow man in the front yard complete with pipe :)

I'm glad we were able to spend some time together and make some memories since this probably won't happen again for a long time. Philip has always dreamed of living in Colorado, so this was really exciting to him and brought back a lot of the yearning that I/we thought he had left behind. The snow sure is wonderful and beautiful, but I must say, I love my warm TX spring, summer and fall!

Snowy Boys Day!

I have been loving this beautiful snow...isn't God amazing! Philip had to work on Thursday and I had to work today, so sadly we didn't get to get out in the snow together. We made sure and took lots of pictures though since this is the new record for the most snow ever in TX (12+ inches!). Soooo...this post is a long one :)

Levi and Momma at about 8 am yesterday...we thought it was a lot of snow...but it was only about 2 inches then!!

Levi's snow photo shoot in the back yard...Penny was super excited about the snow.

Here are some pictures of our house and yard once the snow finally stopped. It sure was amazing to see all the perfectly white snow in all the big trees on our street! You may notice that the Jetta is still at our house, but the Explorer is gone because I had to work...all three snow days this year I have been at work...I think this is sad/odd since I only work once a week now! At least the roads were 100% better than they were on Christmas Eve!

Today while I was at work Philip's Dad came over to help with Levi since he is working on remodeling our kitchen. They seemed to have a lot of fun! Levi loves his Papa and his Daddy so I'm sure he was having a great day.

Papa is so much fun...he treats me right!

Helping the boys get some work done.

Playing with Jessie...what a great day!

Maybe tomorrow the snow will still be good and we can all get out there together :) Hope everyone enjoyed the beauty and fun while staying warm and safe!

On the Move!!!

Levi has really taken off these last few days and is getting better and better at pulling up and faster and faster at crawling. It is so cute and fun, and also a little scary! He sure does keep me busy!
This is how I found him after a nap...he was so proud! Here he has crawled into his exersaucer...he couldn't quite figure out how to get out and thought it was funny at first and then frustrating

Daddy's Shoes

The last time Philip's Mom was in town she brought us a pair of Philip's baby shoes. I saw them in Levi's closet yesterday and noticed they seemed a little small (I thought they were supposed to be for when he started walking). So...I squeezed his little feet into them and did a mini photo shoot :) He sure was cute!

Fun in Florida!

Philip, Levi and I spent the past Thursday - Monday in Florida to attend his cousin's wedding and see our good friends the Valentines! Luckily the Valentines live in Orlando which was about 1 hour from Jenny's wedding location, so we were able to stay with them for the long weekend. It was a great trip because we got to spend time with Philip's family (most of which live in Florida) and also get a good visit in with Lauren, Robby and Charlotte (who you may remember is just 10 days older than Levi).

On Thursday we flew in (Levi did great on his first flight!!! phew!) and arrived at the hotel Valentine just in time for a yummy meal (Thanks for all the great food you made us Lauren!) and then we bathed the kiddos and put them to bed. Charlotte was a little scared at Levi's loudness and aggressive moving and grabbing at first, but by the end of the weekend they seemed to really enjoy "playing" together and laughed and smiled at each other a lot. Here they are in their super cute pjs the first night
On Friday we enjoyed a lazy morning and then went to nearby Celebration for a yummy sushi lunch (Philip's fav) and to get some cute pics of the kiddos outside. Here's one of our favorites:

I must say, these are two of the cutest babies ever! I am so lucky to have Lauren in my life and we have shared in so many major live steps together...I really think God brought us together as friends to support each other. It has been so wonderful to start and share motherhood with Lauren! I love you Lauren!

well..

Friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner (where Levi had his first big bonk...crawled right off a carpeted step and hit just below his eye...you may notice the little bruise under his left eye). We really enjoyed seeing all of Philip's extended family and introducing them to Levi. Saturday we headed back to Philip's Aunt and Uncle's and Philip and the other men went golfing while the girls and babies hung out and finished last minute wedding details. Here is Levi playing with his cousin Kamryn(exactly one year older) and about to head off to the wedding in his little tux (cousin Kadin - now 5 - wore this to our wedding! so cute!)

The wedding was beautiful and Jenny was glowing. Her dress was gorgeous as was she. We loved the music and a special song her new hubby wrote for her and played on the piano. Cousin Kynlee was the flower girl and she was sooo cute too! We had a wonderful time and are so excited that Jenny and Brett are going to be living in Abilene now and we will get to see them more often! Here are a few pics from the wedding and reception:

On Sunday we were able to visit Lauren and Robby's church, which was exciting because they moved all the way to Florida to help get it started up! We enjoyed the service (well...I missed most of the sermon because of Levi's loud happiness!) and really were impressed with everything they have built there. After church we had a yummy lunch and then drove out to the beach. We knew it was going to be in the upper 50s and so bundled up the kiddos, but we were surprised by the high winds. The babies didn't seem to mind...they actually seemed to enjoy the wind (made Levi's eye really water though!!!). We snapped a few quick pics and watched some kite surfers and then headed home for a relaxing dinner and some TV. Here are some beach pics:

We loved seeing everyone and feel really blessed to have such amazing family and friends! We love our Boyers! We love our Valentines! Thank you everyone and we hope to see you all soon!
