New Baby Pics

Today I had my third OB appointment. Everything is looking great with Mom and Baby. I am always a little paranoid about complications because of where I work (my hospital is a high risk facility and we get people flown in from all over North and West TX that are having problems with their pregnancies). But, I really don't think I will have any major problems. Baby had a strong heart beat and measured just a little ahead (which runs in my family...this one will probably be big too!)

We are not sure of the baby's gender yet. We should find out at my "official" sonogram on March 4th! Our baby always moves a lot on sono, but I still haven't been able to feel anything that I knew for sure was baby. I can't wait for that in the next few weeks! Here is a picture of baby's profile at 17 weeks:

Valentine's Day

Since this year was our last Valentine's Day for quite some time where we won't have to find a baby sitter to go out alone we decided to make it a special one. Breakfast is something both Philip and I really enjoy, so we made a really big meal late Saturday morning (also to fill us up until dinner) of pancakes, sausage, fried eggs, and brown sugar apples. I must say it turned out really yummy.

You can see that Philip gave me some really beautiful lilies (He is really good at arranging flowers!) and I gave him a card with some candy. We were still in our PJs so weren't up to being in the photo. After breakfast we went to several furniture stores to look at dining room and baby furniture. We (mostly Philip) research everything for a long time before we buy...this was our third trip like this and I am sure there will be more before we buy anything.

The best part of the day was our dinner. We splurged on a special Valentine's Menu 5 course dinner at Lonesome Dove Bistro in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Most of you know that I am a little obsessed with Food Network on TV. Well, the chef/owner Tim Love was on Iron Chef America last year and won!! We had also both heard that the food was excellent. It was worth every penny! Our food was fantastic! The tapas, soup and salad were all very tasty and original. Our main courses were perfect. I had stuffed beef tenderloin (best I've ever had!) and Philip had Sea Bream (flaky and delicious!) and then the desert was ancho chile chocolate cake and Mexican wedding cookies and they were also amazing. If you want to more about the meal I can tell you in detail, but I won't go on and on here. However I will recommend that you all make reservations for a special occasion and visit this restaurant! Another treat was that Chef Love happened to spend a lot of the night standing about 15 feet from our table watching the plates as they went out of the kitchen. I thought it was neat to see a celebrity Chef. Here we are before we left home for dinner. Thanks for the pretty maternity dress Momma!

Baby Boyer on the Way!

I have always wanted to be a mom. When I was in 5th grade we had a "dress up as what you want to be when you grow up day" and I dressed up as a mom...I'm not kidding. Philip and I are both so excited to be parents and can't wait to meet our first child. Our dreams are coming true and we feel like this is one of the most important things we can do as a married couple.

I can't believe how quickly the first 4 months of my pregnancy have gone by! I am starting to show and Philip took a few pictures of me yesterday. Looking at the pictures I cannot believe how much I am showing! I thought I just looked a little fat, but I think I actually look like I'm going to have a baby! Here I am 16 weeks pregnant.

As a labor and delivery nurse I have the great perk of access to a sonogram machine! We have been able to get several more views of our baby than the average parents. It is truly amazing how quickly the baby is changing and I feel so blessed each time I get to take a look. Here are a few pictures of our growing baby!

6 weeks...just a little peanut with a heart beat :)

12 weeks...lots of movement and "human" features!

We should find out if we are having a boy or girl in the next few weeks! It will be fun to start thinking about names and making more plans.

Something to Talk About

Hi Everyone!
I never really felt like Philip and I had much reason for a blog. Well, as many of you already know, we are expecting our first child this July. I think the time has come for us to join the blogging world. We plan on having a simple blog to keep our family and friends up to date on our growing family. I have always enjoyed viewing my friends blogs and I hope you all enjoy ours!
Here we go!
