The Saturday before Easter we were lucky to spend the day at Cross Pines with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend Morgan, and all four Wallaces. It was a wonderful day full of Easter fun for the kids! We started off by playing with some baby farm animals. There were ducklings, chicks, guinea pigs, baby goats, two horses and a pony. The kids loved petting and holding all the animals!

Joel really wanted the goats to let him pet them...he and Asher didn't have any luck getting close enough...

After all the kids had time to play with the animals, we enjoyed a yummy pot luck meal. Once everyone was full to the brim we lined up all the kids and had a huge egg hunt. Nora, Levi, Asher and Joel were the only ones there under age 5, so they got to be in the front of the bunch and get a head start. They had a blast!

After the hunt Laura, the stable manager, saddled up the pony for carriage rides, and took the kids two by two on a ride around the club house. She went pretty fast! Levi, and Nora had a blast, Asher pushed through, and Joel started crying before they even got going.

Before we all loaded up we tried to get some family pictures. The ones of our little family are pretty cute, but my hair did go a little crazy in the wind...and you may notice Levi didn't want to put down a chick for the pictures either. The series of pictures of my parents with all four grandkids are hilarious and typical for this busy, energetic bunch! I love all the facial expressions, and how Kate's kids seemed to coorporate so much more than our boys! Ha!
Levi was desperate to get a little fishing in before we left, so after everyone loaded up to head home, we squeezed in a little time on one of the small lakes to try our luck at fishing. We ended up catching 6 fish in less than an hour! Levi reeled in the biggest catch, a good sized crappie. Man was he one proud little guy!
What a blessing to be able to spend time with my family and enjoy God's beautiful creation on the day before Easter! I'm looking forward to many more Easters at the ranch in the years to come and lots of memories at Pop and Moe's Ranch!
