Visit to Raiderland

For the first time in several years, we took a trip to Lubbock to visit friends, show the kids the Texas Tech Campus and attend a Tech football game. Pop, Moe and Asher came along as well and we all had fun showing the kids around campus and eating at some of our favorite old places. We rented a historic home just a few blocks and short walk from campus. It brought back a lot of memories for Philip, Pop, Moe and I. The first night in town Pop and Moe kindly stayed with the kids while Philip and I meet up with some of our best friends from college, the Fellers. Sadly, Rachel came down with a stomach bug on Saturday, so she and I stayed home that afternoon so she could nap and recover while all the boys, Pop and Moe went out to Raider Alley. Rachel seemed well after a nap, so we joined the rest of the family at the game a little before half time. Even though it was a sad game for Tech, it was so fun to show the kids the Masked Rider, Goin' Band and stadium. Thankfully, no one else got the tummy germ, and we had a good lunch with friends before heading back home, stopping by to check out a cotton field on the way. Hopefully we won't go so long between visits again.
