This past weekend we loaded up the boys and drove out to Lubbock to visit our good friends the Fellers, see my little brother and go to a Red Raider football game. It was a great weekend, even though it did feel a little weird going to far from my Mom (who is recovering well by the way!). Levi and Joel did great on the drive there and enjoyed listening to music on their new earphones and taking some long naps :).

Luckily just as we pulled into town we were able to squeeze in a quick visit with our friends the Nelsons. They are missionaries in Ukraine, but were home in Texas on furlough and happened to have just given birth to their second adorable son (Seth Reese...great name!) the day before we were planning to arrive in Lubbock. It is always special to see a newborn baby, as well as spend time with some truly special people, so the visit was really great.

After a short stop at the hospital we headed to the Fellers and enjoyed a delicious dinner and some great company. Kameron, Philip and I were all freshman at Tech the same year and attended the same church and college ministry for 4 years. We met Jason shortly after when he started dating Kameron that first year and we have been good friends since. Their friendships have been such blessings for both Philip and I and we are lucky that we usually see each other at least twice a year (for a Tech football game and the cow-town marathon). Their daughter Mollie is about 5 months older than Levi and the two of them always have a lot of fun playing together! The Fellers recently added another sweetie to their family, a precious little reheaded hansome boy, Henley.

On Saturday we were able to sit with them at the game as well as join them in tailgating before the game and during half time. The kids did great and Levi and Mollie had fun yellling "Go Raiders" and many other things along with the crowd during the game. It was a close game, but Tech won in over time. Levi couldn't believe how loud the crowd would cheer during intense parts of the game. After a break for naps we joined the Fellers for another yummy meal (Thanks for spoiling us Kam!) and then enjoyed watching the little ones destory the house and use Jason as a jungle gym.

Philip was lucky to spend the morning on Saturday hunting for ducks with my brother, Seth, Jason and some of Seth's friends. Philip also went and spent time with Seth during the boys naps. After naps we took the boys over to Seth's house for a quick visit and it was a bachelor pad for sure...and a great place for my brother :). Levi told uncle Seth he wants to be a Red Raider one day...made him and his buddies smile.

We finished off the weekend with a breakfast out before hitting the road home. Unfortunately Levi got sick with a stomach bug about 2/3 of the way home and made quite the mess of his car seat and clothes. I'm sure the cars that passed by along 380 were curious about the little boy in his underwear on the side of the highway :(. I'm hoping and praying the Mollie and Henley don't come down with it. So far Joel and the rest of us seem untouched, so hopefully it's not overly contagious. Despite the last 2-3 hours the trip was a lot of fun and we are already looking forward to a repeat next year! Thanks Fellers for your friendship, hospitality and love of our crazy family!

Well, aside from Levi puking on the drive home (Oh no!), that sounds like a really great trip! Glad you guys got to spend some good quality time with both Seth and the Fellers!
